I am using Openbook, Ruby edition with JFW33. I would not recommend using
the JFW sleep mode with Ruby; never could get that thing to work. The Ruby
disk has its own file which will disable JFW when Ruby is running so you
will not get double speech both from JFW and Ruby. You will want to use the
custom install so that you can install whatever synthesizer you want to use.
