I'll first state that I am in no way affiliated with HJ. These are my
thoughts, and are not meant to say good or bad about HJ or anybody else.
I have been a member of this list for over two years, and I remember when a
discussion of releasing a public beta came up. Most list members were in
favor of having this beta to report on bugs and help HJ make a better
product.
My question is simple. Are public betas really needed? I do see the value
of having this beta, because it gives us a chance to mention possible
problems. It seems that a beta is simply being released as the final
product, which doesn't make sense to me. For my part, 3.3122 worked better
than the current release. By this, I refer to speed. That's just my
opinion, though.
It's something to consider.
