Dear Mukhtar,
I sincerely appreciate your suggestion. On this pious day of Christmas, it will
be a very good idea to heartily endorse it and reiterate your thought for all
friends on this e-group to support.
It is very important for concerned citizens to initiate proactive and positive
thoughts and actions. We could dedicate and commit ourselves to work on such an
unifying idea on every festival and holy day.
Friends,
If anyone has got time to wonder, what religion I belong to... well, I am not
from any organised group. Born and brought up in a tribal society of Arunachal
Pradesh, which in my growing years did not have much to do with such concerns,
I still believe in what my ancestors believed in. Though, perhaps, I am unable
to practice as much as they used to owing to my physical distance from my own
community and people.
But I also do believe in the oneness of humanity and the equality of human
beings. Outdated beliefs and practices ought to give way to more sensitive and
understanding traditions. So that, we can live in Peace and Harmony, work
without fear or prejudice for the good of all in our own country and help in
creating a Happy world for our unborn generations.
May the New Year 2009, usher in the positive energy that we all need at this
hour in the world !
