What most people forget is that monothiesm and polytheism are false teachings
as both doctrines are dualistic - that Cause is separate from Effect which
leads the votaries (and the dualistic scriptures) of these baseless theories
to the naive conclusion that some extra cosmic god (or gods) who has no causal
connection with anything some how or the other managed to create the cosmos out
of nothing and is manipulating the cosmos and its inhabitants like puppets on
string. Anything sillier than this? As such both monotheism and polytheism are
irrational hypotheses.
The best alternative that is in tune with rationality, experiment, experience
and mysticism is Monism/Non-Dualism/Advaita that preaches that One Reality has
manifested itself in varied ways or that the cosmic variety is the manifested
effect of one Supreme Cause !
This makes sense as unity in variety is the eternal and universal law.
