Let's admit this seed cause in bold. Why, the Quran employs abusive language against "non-Muslims" and goes to the extent of calling them "filthy, unclean and in the case of the Jews and Christians it labels them apes and pigs." That a religion (Islam) is followed by over a billion people is no indication of its greatness nor is it a verification of the so-called truths that it preaches. What qualifies the greatness of a thing is quality and not quantity ! If till today Muslims the world over cannot grant its non-Muslim minorities freedom and the right to live as dignified and equal citizens, it speaks volumes about what they've imbibed from their scriptures. No where in the Islamic world are non-Muslims treated as equals, besides they're even denied worshipping rights and are not free to proselytise, construct places of worship or pray in public (or in private in certain Islamic theocracies) but ironically Muslims claims all these rights wherever they're in a minority and if permission is even slightly denied to them they set off mass agitations and when their numbers grow they lauch violent separatist movements or make every effort to convert the Dar-ul-Harb into a Dar-ul-Islam. Why is this so ? This is because the Quran preaches sectarianism of the crudest kind : that while "infidels" are the vilest creatures in the eyes of the extra-cosmic god (Allah) who creates out of nothing and that only Islam is acceptable to this extra-cosmic god which is why humilating conditions like Jizziya, subjugation of other faiths and persecution of non-Muslims are prescribed by this medieval Book, while amusingly on the other hand it says that where the spread of Islam is thwarted or where Muslims are refused worshipping rights then the extra-cosmic god (Allah) permits "believers" to launch a violent Jihad to do away with the restrictions and that the faithful should fight the "non-believers" until "religion is only for Allah" and the Dar-ul-Harb is converted into a Dar-ul-Islam. Even apostates, heretics and free thinkers are persecuted (killed or brutalised) in accordance with its barbaric teachings as if to say that what it preaches is verifiable truth, absolute truth or the last word on matters spiritual, intellectual, social, economic, moral and material. Really, this imposition is the height of scriptural ignorance and arrogance and constitutes terrorism of the highest order and which in turn incites Muslims to take to terrorism in a big way if they're not already humiliating or persecuting their religious minorities, apostates, atheists, heretics and free thinkers. Besides, interestingly, when non-Muslims are not available as targets due to their living in fear or having being ruthlessly subjugated, then, to find a catharsis for their innate sadistic tendencies, Muslims fight among themselves with each Islamic sect claiming that its interpretation of the Quran is perfect while those of others are in error. Millions of lives have been lost in the fight among Sunnis, Shias, Wahabis, Ahmediyas and other denominations. And all this bloodshed, injustice and perscution over a book whose teachings are unverifiable and which on the contrary have been debunked by science and rationalism in most ways !!! Yes, these are some of the "wonderful" teachings of Islam and several other instances of its discriminatory and fanciful theories can be cited. Best Regards, Dr A K Isaacs
