Nicola, I tried it with FC 1, 3, and 5, and it worked just fine. Anyway, if your information is that important, back it up before trying such a big move. It shouldn't give you any hassles, but extra protection never hurts!!
If i remember correctly, during installation, FC will show you a list of other OSs and ask you which is default and where to install grub, if at that step things don't look promising, you can cancel the installation without having your harddisk compromised, because FC doesn't write any changes to HDD until the very last step of the isntallation process.
