Hi guys! I really agree with other members about the necessity of a Linux conference in Irbid, but can I suggest to held it in JUST rather than Yarmouk? Here in JUST we have officially opened an OPEN SOURCE GROUP (OSG), it is a student club which wants to promote the use and development of open source and free software. I have to say that our group is officially recognized by our university, and we have support from the IT faculty and many professors and doctors truly appreciated the idea (most of them have experience with open source software). About the Micro$oft thing.. I've heard about their conference in Yarmouk (they call it Micro$oft student festival :S) and i'm sure we can make something similar (or even better) here in JUST! I am not so pessimistic, I think most of IT students DO know what open source is, and I can personally talk about JUST students.. in less than two weeks we have had more than 40 registered members by passing the word only! since we haven't officially announced the creation of our group.
If there are members who are really interested in any Linux (or Open Source) conference here in JUST please contact me.. I am sure that our group will be granted lecture halls for the event and I am ready to manage the boring "bureaucratic procedures" ;) Issa Mahasneh JUST Open Source Group [EMAIL PROTECTED] www.just.edu.jo/opensource On 23 Jan, 11:11, "hassan ." بالإضافة لتخصيص المنظر والأمور الي بتحمس الجدد للتعرف أكثر على > هذا النظام > > وممكن طرح أفكار للشباب الي بتفكر حول كيف ممكن يستفيدو من النظام بمشاريع > تخرجهم وحياتهم وعملهم > > وبعدين بمحاضرات أخرى ممكن التطرق لمواضيع متقدمة أكثر من أمور إدارة السيرفرات > والشبكات وهمثل هيك أمور > > حسن القاضي > > On Jan 23, 2008 10:57 AM, Abdallah <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > > > Assalam Alaikum wr wb > > > A direct approach is important here.
