I love Nashville and went to see it recently at the Filmoteca here.
Unfortunately it was the worst quality I have ever seen and unwatchable.
Scratchy, jumpy, music fading in and out, terrible. Walked out before the end.
I complained to the manager and he said he didn't know the print was bad
because he had only received it that afternoon. I asked if he would find
another print because the film was scheduled to play 4 or 5 more times during
that Altman season. He said not. I have not returned there since.
I bought a DVD last weekend and looking forward to seeing Nashville again, and
hearing the music too.
