Had you grown up on the other side, you would more likely say that you were more familiar with the MSC version. I agree with this whole-heartedly - it's just that time and the title of the song has given it that kind of treatment. When I think of some of the more wacky covers I have, a lot of them are Woodstock, because for a lot of folks that event was a defining point in the culture. Bob
