I think we should expect to see a longer development cycle now that jQuery has reached a new level of acceptance. You have to be much more serious and methodical when your work starts affecting more people and more projects. It is great to see MS, Zend, etc. taking jQuery seriously, but it will change things a little.
BTW, PHP| Architect for October has a great example of jQuery use in the article on reducing bandwidth. Validation of the "write less, do more" motto. Bang on.
