The real problem with ASP is that the scripting languages (VB and
JScript) are not object-oriented, and are not type checked at compile
time. This means that you will only discover mis-matches between COM
functions and ASP code when you exhaustively test each page.

The lack of object-oriented language features will begin to affect
things over time. Generally what will happen is that you can get
something simple working quickly in ASP. Then you pile on a bunch of
other stuff and pretty soon you can't change anything without breaking
something else, and it becomes very difficult to figure out how anything
really works. This has been happening to programs written in procedural
scripting languages since they were invented.

My advice -- for simple things that need to be done quickly -- ASP is
excellent. For larger, more robust and professional stuff, use a
professional language like Java, which pretty much means servlets or
JSP.
