Agree with Earl.

Despite what other people really think about IT, it's still about "people
skills". You'd be very lucky to work in a company where there's no clash of
egos. That;s one reason why I did not accept an offer from a multinational
printer manufacturer based in Cebu. I stuck with my current employer not
only for the pay (it's not much but gets by), but also for the people I work
with. I also get to play around and implement pure opensource solutions
without much hassle. Freedom is sweet.

hello,

One thing that you should consider when pursuing an "I.T. Career" is
that around 60% of the time, you'll be working with people that have
egos at par with the size of the milkyway. And, around 30% of the
time, you'll be dealing with clients that are completely clueless on
what they really want. The remaining 10% is where your 4 years of
"Computer Science" will be put into practice. So, if you look closely,
the people that are really successful in I.T. are the ones that have
the patience to stroke other people's egos and make them feel that
they're really smart -AND- the ones that have the patience to sit with
clients on a meeting and listen to them talk about things that are
utterly out of this world. If you ask me, you don't need a college
degree to do that. Really, you don't.
