I often wonder how Wal*Mart would have fared had it been created in the image it now holds. Wal*Mart used to be a proud "Made in the USA" sponsor. It used to sell decent products at decent prices. It used to work fair deals with U.S. suppliers that benefitted the factory and itself. This was a large component of it's growth and popularity with the blue-collar worker in the early years.
Now, of course, 90 percent of Wal*Mart's inventory is made in China. It's focus on squeezing every last drop out of suppliers is legendary. Wal*Mart has decided to screw over the working class on which it built itself.
Will Wal*Mart's replacement be cut from the same image? Or will the bib boxes fall prey to the next consumer trend?
Stay tuned for another exiting episode of Retail Wars. heh. -- [email protected] http://www.kernel-panic.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/kplug-list
