So I just started a new job selling upgrades for time warner and some of
their training seemed..... less than technically informed, let's say. So
I have a question for all you road runner guys out there. Does linux
still work on their setup? Is it like the bad old days with the logins
and all that or is it like cox where the cable modem will talk to any
computer?

I live in the Los Angeles area so I'm not sure if this is relevant to San Diego, but when I got Road Runner nearly two years ago it worked fine with a Linux box connecting directly to the cable modem. I think it's just a standard dynamic connection.

I have since started using a wireless router which also has given me absolutely no connection problems.

It might also be worth noting that I'm a complete nerd and have never had to call support. When the tech guy was here setting up I happened to have a laptop with Windows on it and didn't want to bother him with Linux questions during the initial setup.
