Well, I suppose you *could* go door-to-door in your neighborhood, and
ask folks if they were running a wireless network. I'd expect the
cops to come harass you if you tried such a thing, however.
(I'd call 'em myself if you knocked on my door and asked me that.)
I did that sometime in september ran around to everyone within a mile or so of
my house kinda took an oval considering the little hills and how far my AP
reached. got several "yep's" and a few "whats a that" not as many computers
as homes in my neighborhood ... I had no fear of cops even if they did decide to
actually take the call, its not illegal.
