Now you are making some other poor guy do a lot of work to track down the owner of the wireless AP. Some guy who most likely doesn't know a thing about AP's.
IF they didnt know then they didnt answer, but most just knew, I was asking what they owned.

Now who is imposing? Just secure your WAP. If you are smart enough to set it up you are smart enough to secure it.
I wasnt worried about security or interaction, my private AP is locked down my public is not, it provides a nice webpage where you can accept my almost a joke terms(dont blame me if it stops working, no speed guarantee and lists my phone number) and use it free reaches over a mile in one direction about 300' in the other not sure why but my guess is the hill and some power lines probibly mess with the transmition plus the antenna is on a pole with several other antenna's some of which significantly overpower WiFi.

And if some stranger comes asking me the details of my corporate internal network I agree with Stewart: We don't run any wireless here.
corporate info is never shared, and never public!!! Wanna know about work networking get a warrant. but Yea I did ask a few businesses, several around me intrestingly enough had WiFi setups, again no one refuesed to answer.. most either didnt know what I was asking or didnt claim to own one, and yes I used one of the keychain WiFi detecters.

It was a fun excersize done for nothing more than my own education/intertainment.
