I am using an EIS and have checked the rpms against a rpm test device. I do
not understand why I am getting the speed I am getting at low rpm's. This is
a 2180 VW engine (Great Planes) with a Ellison TB carb. I am pulling a
Sterba 54 x 54 prop and the top rpms that I can achieve is around 3150. I
may have too much prop.My craft is very clean, very little drag. Down the
runway this past Friday on a low pass, rpm 2700, slight decent and an
airspeed of 185 mph. At 2924 rpm indicated cruise shows 150 mph. This is
high according to other KR's. Next week I will go back and re-check all of
these stats using a gps. I have already done it once.
