I havent heard anything in recent years about VWs breaking cranks. Unless 
someone comes up with actual reports (complete with tail numbers)  I disregard 
their info. Steve Bennet (Great Plains Airircraft Supply) claims zero failures 
of his force one crank and bearing, and the only cranks I've heard of breaking 
have been the shrink fit hubs. Likewise the Revmaster and Aerovee seem to be
