I have found the directory tree at
github.com/apache/openoffice-org/tree/main/content , I intend to work from this
source. I will figure out a quick way to translate these pages by extracting
the text to be translated from the .htm and running through a translator and
then poking them back in. It seems a little more clear to me since Tigran has
been working on the hy set.

that's great. In the meantime the text in the staging area [1] was improved. So, you can see where and how the text is displayed.

One more thing that is important:
Please don't expect every text in the same file. E.g., here [1]:

The data in the header, breadcrumbs, navigation header, body and footer are in different files. This is our templating system to ensure the same look & feel on every page.

Things are a little confusing regarding links on my end as we use outlook for
our emails, and they convert all our links to some terrible nonsense, and we
don't have the ability to change this feature (set by admins).

Ah, thanks for this information. Then I know how I have to see this and can ignore it. ;-)

This was initiated from the dev-mailing-list under subject "OOo:eo Localization
page"

Going forward, there is probably a better way to do this direct from the html
for someone who know coding. But it only really took me about half a day to
translate this in a text editor with no prior knowledge, on a basic workstation.

This language was pretty easy to do, because it shares roots with the english
language. I cannot imagine doing this for some of the more exotic languages...

I hope all is well with everyone.

I think this is a great point for a start. Thanks for the translations
so far. I've saved it locally in the case that it is somehow deleted
suddenly.

I'll try to include it in the website and will build a webpage in the
staging area for testing (OK, mostly it's only reading ;-) ).

I'll do this in the next days.

Please be patient.

I have just looked through how all the localizations have been done. It seems that many of them have only the main page

) and the downloads page modified ie

There are certainly some greats exceptions to these, where many of the sections have be translated, so props to those
whom have translated previously.

It seems that the best organization to the pages is https://

/ABC/ rather than what some translations have done, ie the FR has links such as https://

I have done my initial investigation using the site Website Links Count Checker - Find External &
internal Links
(smallseotools.com)<https://apc01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fsmallseotools.com%2Fwebsite-links-count-checker%2F&data=04%7C01%7C2018001901%40student.sit.ac.nz%7Ccebb0b3d57e946e54b2f08d915de380e%7Cc46ab213d1794a719ff7b9d9fe3f3b48%7C0%7C1%7C637564866456309120%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000&sdata=44uRXfKrp3i33AVC%2FLjxyFpf8hqlGyoNlkunUM4vnoY%3D&reserved=0>
to find the links coming from their respective pages.

I will just need the link to the source, but I assume I can just inspect the
en-US page and copy-paste to create the translations...

This will actually be quite a simple task to complete. Thank God.

To start with I can do the 'MAIN PAGE' and the 'DOWNLOADS PAGE'

Then, the next stage would/could be,
PRODUCT
SUPPORT
EXTENSIONS
PROJECTS
PRIVACY
CONTACT US
DONATE
ect

I doubt it is wise to translate the "Copyright & License" pages at this time.

Fun, fun 🙂

likely require some proof reading by a native speaker, but hopefully will be good enough to allow

just to make it clear and that no misunderstanding is happening.

When these webpages are re-newed then they have to be updated with the
default set of pages. Just updating and translating the existing pages
is not enough.

I will start with esperanto (eo) for a test run. So where do I find the
original source to translate from?

Great. I'm looking forward to see / read some new context for Esperanto. :-)
