1996.  I used some Fraycheck on a piece of embroidery, for which I bought
the pattern in 1995, so I probably stitched it in 1996.  The Fraycheck was
on the edges to stop them ravelling.  By the time I'd finished stitching it
was starting to show up on ivory linen.  A couple of years after stitching
the piece I reframed it, and by then the edges were brown.  Fortunately I'd
left lots of extra fabric so I cut the brown edges off.

Going back to Chelle's original problem, here's a suggestion for a fairly
fast way to finish off tatting.  Find a needle with a large enough eye to
take accommodate your thread.  Use the needle to thread the loose end in and
out of the top of the double stitches - along the top of the mushroom
shapes.  This isn't as invisible as threading through the mushroom stalks,
but it's very quick to do, and looks better than cut and glued ends.
