Another source of really good wool felt for pillows is saddle felt (used as lining for horse saddles). Not cheap, but much thicker than felt in fabric stores, so you need less of it. Not easy to find, though...
A source we've found in Adelaide is the underfelt for underneath the cotton cover of an ironing board - I know, some of you don't iron anymore........................... We can purchase this at our local supermarket in the kitchen section. Small squares covered with calico/cotton fabric make fantastic 'moving up' pads as well.
