Either I missed it on the first reading, or it was introduced after I responded... but I now realize that the thing I hate the most (and yes... the feeling is that strong...) is sewings!! To me, it just interrupts the rhythm of the work, and the finer the threads, the more frustrating it is. So I've long since given up laces which require a lot of sewings (Milanese, for example, which I think is a perfectly beautiful lace, and could hardly wait to learn to do it!)
