I would agree with this. There is something really special about
Arachne that doesn't seem to happen in any other group. However, it
is possible to set up groups on Yahoo which are moderated, and people
can only join if approved, it seems though that the discussions on
those groups are, as Brenda says, shallow. They don't seem to have
the depth of knowledge which exists on here (unless of course, that is
what comes with age..... and this group is ancient by internet
standards!!) (VBG)

Somehow there seems to be a shallowness about the discussions on
that group which doesn't happen with Arachne, but I can't really say
why it is. It's not just that Arachne has long established members;
new people often join us and they make valuable contributions to our
discussions.
