Hi Phi,

Thank you very much for that.

I've downloaded the driver and installed it, but not had chance to test it
properly.

It is clear it is better than the old version, as at least under some
circumstances it detects the battery has been removed. But there are
circumstances where it is still not as it should be. I will get back to you
with some more concrete facts once I have had chance to test it fully.

My initial thoughts are that it still has problems if the battery is not in the
laptop when it is powered on, but I'll be more specific later.

Dave.

BTW,
I noticed today that in build 94 there *is* some piece of software which is
shutting down the system when the battery gets low. I'm not sure what it is,
but I wish it would not. It pops up with messages indicating the battery level
is lower than that stated by the 2.22.2 in the panel at the bottom of my screen

This bit of software (whatever it is), was saying I had 4 minutes left, while
the Battery Charge Monitor 2.22.2 in the panel at the bottom of my screen said
10 minutes. So it is estimating something like 6 minutes less than Battery
Charge Monitor. Given I know that battery charge monitor says the batteries are
exhausted about 10 minutes before the laptop's hardware powers it off, this is
suggesting to the me this bit of software is probably powering off the laptop
16 minutes before the batteries are depleted. I'd like to find out what is
causing these popups and disable it.

Clearly something in build 94 is making a decision to power off the laptop, but
I think it is doing it far too early.
