Nope. Doesnt seem to work. If I could just upgrade I would. I have
about 750 user accounts on server. LDAP authenticates them to mail.
When I install new mail server, I have to migrate the accounts (intact)
to a new server. Hopefully without any downtime. My problem is the
version is so old slapadd with an .ldif file from the old mail server
will not import to a new server. Which is why I was wondering if there
was an upgrade faq or something.

Sounds like you are using some release of OpenLDAP 2.0. In that case,
you really really want to upgrade to a new release. It is not
surprising that you can't load an LDIF file from 2.0, but you could fix
up the LDIF file for whatever errors it complains about.

Here is what I get: uid=someuser,ou=people,dc=harrisonburg,dc=k12,dc=va,dc=us
  LDAP error: Invalid Syntax!
For every entry. My base dn seems fine.

thanks,
