John,

I believe the error was something about Shorewall function not found.
essentially it appeared that shorewall fails to start. Then I go through
the 
shorewall config options as prescribed in the bering user guide. When I 
try to back up the shorewall package I get an error about the Shorewall
function. I was hoping someone else had seen this but I will run through
it 
again tomorrow evening and try to capture some screen dumps to report
the
actual errors.
