In some ways we had this in league 1. When we started to slip during the cup run it was fairly apparently that most of these players werent good enough for the championship so what motivation did they have to get over the finish line, a season of struggle, a replacement coming in???
But, quite a few have proven that wrong But never under estimate the vanity of football people Bates wants his day at Stamford Bridge, Grayson wont want to be a nearly man, we are still the biggest club outside the premier league and while this season is a gimme next season isnt! Many of the players think they are prem standard, the media seem to agree, Becchio to Celtic, Kasper to Liverpool, Bradley Johnson to half a dozen no mark lower prom clubs, it wont be long before the Somma to Stoke or someone rumours start. I was p1ssed off last night but we are 6th, 5 points off 2nd, the clubs around us are dropping points at random. Im not convinced that we have to get out of this league this year, I can see West Ham having a relegation hangover and Wigan and Wolves the other 2 most likely hold no fear even with £50m. Look how Hull and Burnley have struggled to adjust. Relax and enjoy this season and see where it leads, top 8 is good anything better is fantastic! If buyer doesn't arrive he, SG, will be open conflict with Bates about buying new players. Also SG will be the steward of a probable relegated team. We all know that means the sack. So there are scenarios where SG maybe not to keen to get promoted. Not with KB. Before anyone starts lambasting me I'll make three points: 1. The Watford play off final. 2. The nature of our uncle Ken and his past antics. 3. I said that this is one scenario -- there are many others.
