On the other hand you could be carrying a cruise missile, but if you drop it when instructed to you wouldn't get shot.
This isnt about who was shot or what they were or were not carrying, its about what police officers judged to be a threat to public safety. With the tube shooting it is unfortunate that the nature of the threat left no opportunity for the victim to be challenged as they were already in a crowded public area. He should be seen as another tragic vitim of the suicide bombings and attempted suicide bombings. The blood is on their hands, noone elses. Fortunately we live in a country where this kind of thing doesn't happen on a regular basis, so it is understandable that our Police force might not be 100% competent in surveillance and intelligence in such matters. The misinformation that came out from the Met Police immediately following the shooting is inexcusable though, they should either say nothing or say what they know is fact. > In london you only need to be carrying a chair leg in a plastic bag > to get shot dead by the police, and that was before the recent bombings > m > On 18 Jul 2006, at 09:39, Sean Emmott wrote: > _______________________________________________ the Leeds List is an unmoderated mailing list and the list administrators accept no liability for the personal views and opinions of contributors.
