What are you talking about ? Revie has proved to KPMG that he has the money, or do you know something different ? There is little doubt that he has the money but that is not the same thing as making an offer after limited due dilligence. > All the other groups sat by the last time the club as up for sale because > it wasnt a good business deal. BAtes didnt and whatever cra we are in now > at least he tried!! What bit about Stubbs waiting in a solicitors office to sign the papers do you not understand ? Asking why Morris sold to Bates would be a very good question. > What of this shining knight of morality and hope for us all Norman Stubbs. > Betty mentioned him as if his superior bid was creully snatched away by > bates. I would like to know a little buit more about him because I have > been shot down in flames before for saying BAtes saved us from the Unibond > and groundsahreing with farsley celtic If this isnt te case then I missed > something! You certainly do appear to be missing something. How is taking us to relegation one season after reaching the play-off finals anything other than taking us along that path to the Unibond ? After all he cant get us there any faster than he is doing already. If you add together the income streams over the last 12 months and add to that the increase in debts over that period then you have the total expenditure by the club for last year. I wonder if any other club in the division spent any more than that total. What is the result of all this expenditure ? By any measure it would have to be judged as a spectacular failure. Bates is currently trying to save us from Bates, apparantly. As for Stubbs then in my view he fatally misjudged things. As far as I can tell (and this is not just guesswork) he tried to push the former directors just a little bit too far so that he went beyond what they could accept and by doing that he let Bates in the door. With hindsight the former board might now have wished that they had sold to Stubbs after all , as the promises upon which Bates based his take-over have not been delivered in full. Perhaps they would have been no worse off with Stubbs after all, but the club would be in a totally different position. _______________________________________________ the Leeds List is an unmoderated mailing list and the list administrators accept no liability for the personal views and opinions of contributors.
