If Bates had acted in good faith through the whole CVA procedure, and if
there were not three anonymous off shore companies (at least one of which
Bates had an interest in 6 months ago) owed such large sums by LUFC, do
you think there would have been the same possibility of challenges being
made to the CVA?

It's all very well saying that Bates hasn't done anything illegal - the
fact is we don't know that everything has been done legally - _that's_ why
HMRC are looking at things so closely.

As for the statement, it looks to me like harvey is saying "look, we know
it all looks a bit dodgy, but let us get away with it or we'll shut the
club down."  You think that sounds reasonable - I think it sounds like
blackmail.
