I am sure one could 'ring-fence' any investment should you wish to. Ie offer to invest £7m purely to buy back ER (or whatever the figure is, and even 'own' the ground and allow the club to live there rent free), or offer to invest £3m purely for transfers etc.
I dunno, but then again I dont have millions to spend and therefore would not waste Bates time speaking to him about it. Would I trust him with my money? 1. If I were investing in a football club I would consider that a high risk investment, or a donation. 2. Why not, he looks after his own well enough! :) > -----Original Message----- > From: Sean Emmott [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: 28 June 2007 10:50 > To: Mark Humphries > Cc: 'Sean Emmott'; 'Tim Leslie'; 'leedslist' > Subject: RE: [LU] Statement on the club site regarding the potential > appeal > > On Thu, June 28, 2007 10:23 am, Mark Humphries wrote: > > > > If potential owners had cash to buy the club, they still have the > cash to > > buy the club, or to invest in the club should they so wish. > > The club isn't for sale.
