>As for Nicholls, my guess is we didn't get much for him, but the receivers
used the proceeds to keep the club going. Bates probably used that to keep
KPMG happy, allowing him to hang on to Healy & Blake, from whom we'll
receive over £2m.

AFAIK incoming transfer money from outgoing player transfers are held by the
football league and released to whoever regains the golden share. I don't
see that the FL would hand it over to KPMG.

 >Assuming we get the golden share back (which I would say is likely - the
delay is probably paperwork-based. And does the FL really want the hassle of
chucking out the single biggest member club of its league?),

Of course the FL do not want to kick out Leeds. That is the last thing that
they want. The choice they were faced with is a wider choice than that.
Perhaps the FL is taking legal advice to check if they still have a wider
choice than that. As I have said before, somebody or some-thing has
prevented the FL from using their unusual circumstances clause and that has
cost this club approx £40 Million of inward investment from what I
understand. I suspect that people are considering their positions very
carefully this week-end.
