I have taken your advice and hit the reply all button to your email.
The reason for your email is clear and results from my own mistake but its
contents require response.

> I have a track record in business, far longer than you would know, and I
> rarely have mentioned it onlist covering many years

You are right in that I don't know but I'll add that I don't want to know.
I would doubt that any of your "business" activities are unknown to anyone
who has been on this list for any length of time.

 > If you contact Jane about anything to do with my professional life I will
> make sure your knackers are in the preverbial platter,

No worries there then. The whole point is that I want nothing to do with
your professional life, whatever that is. If you would keep your business
life and any mention of Leeds United 100% separate then there wouldn't be a
problem.

>C M and myself have a track record in a distant sense, and I have not
>spoken to IMG or Jane since I was requested to help his brother a couple
>of years ago

It is unclear to me why you would want to send me (again) contact details
for the PA of a professional golfer that you only have a distant "track
record" with. It sounds like I may have spoken to his management company
more recently than you have but that is hardly a bragging point. I have
never met or even spoken to the man and feel no reason to name-drop him.

> I also want you to retract the statement I was trying to promote my golf

You WERE promoting your golf business to Leedslisters. That is a fact and
cannot be retracted. If you read what I wrote I never said that you were
ripping "them" off. The only mention of a rip off comes from yourself and I
wonder why it sprang into your mind. "Rack rates" are the walk up rates
displayed at hotel reception. These are the most expensive rates available
at any establishment.
Unless your offer to listers was at below cost to yourself then it still
counts as promoting your business. Even then, have you ever heard of loss
leaders in your long business career ?

> Nor did I post my company website at any stage

You may think that this is an example of your showing admirable restraint.
Others, including myself, may not see this as being deserving of brownie
points.
Please continue not posting your company website. Anyone who would like to
see it will no doubt contact you offlist.(note to listers- If you do ask
then don't forget to ask about the Branson blog. It is well worth a look on
a rainy afternoon).

> Dr Mike in his signature has his business details, maybe you should use
> them

You may be right in that if the current situation last much longer.

> If I do not recieve an email or phone call within the hour apologising, I
> will be visiting my solicitor this afternoon,

Assuming that he is the same solicitor that I have spoken to before then
please give him my regards. He seemed like a nice intelligent guy.You appear
to be a very good customer of his.

>I'm sure others are disturbed that OFFLIST emails get a public slating ??

For that I am truly mortified and have apologised without reservation and I
am happy to do so again here. I apologise for this without reservation. I
have a request though. If you are going to suddenly begin bombarding the
list with
multiple emails of your usual "style" then please make it clear if one of
them is offlist. In such circumstances it is sensible to write OFFLIST at
the start of it so that bloody silly mistakes like I made are unlikely to
happen. That is not an excuse for my error nor for my actions, but accident
prevention is a common concept. Once again I cannot apologise enough for
replying onlist to an offlist email. It was totally out of order.

> I don't need to explain anything to you, or others, many know me on this
> list, and I can say that although I am different, I am entrepreneurial and
> open,
> and maybe you should try and lighten up a bit, and think before you act

Thanks for the advice and I'll try to take it on board. I totally agree in
that you have no need to explain anything to me. I would prefer you not to,
in fact. I see you as being more opportunistic than entrepreneurial but that
is possibly splitting hairs and my opinion is of absolutely no consequence
to your business activities. In fact in all sincerity I wish you the best of
luck with them so long as they have nothing to do with myself (or hopefully
Leeds United, but that is another matter).

> By christ Rick, its not been easy for me to support you

I have thought about the cost-benefits and on balance I have decided that it
would be better for me if you personally took the easier path and stopped
supporting me (whatever that means). Lets make a clean break of it and I'll
do my best to get along without your coaching (and cheerleading) from the
touchlines. I'm not suggesting that you turn against whatever it is that you
are referring to, only that you cease your visible support, or perhaps you
might support silently instead. If this makes your life easier then we will
have a win-win situation. Until the last few days I had admittedly been
totally unaware of your "support".

> as rants like this I got used to, but unfortunatly, LUST is a vehicle
> that you are driving and we may need to use, and if this is the level of
> your mentality, then we haven't got a hope in hell

Contrary to what you are trying to say here you are very well aware that I
strove for years to work in the background. In fact it was YOU who
desperately wanted blazes of publicity and it was you who FORCED me in
front of Sky Sports cameras for the first time, not to mention giving radio
stations my phone number and telling them that I had a big announcement to
make on air (when there was nothing of the sort). In truth, I much later
picked up the Trust baton extremely reluctantly and only then because it was
left lying on the floor. Somebody had to pick it up and there was at the
time nobody else prepared to do it. Once I was chairman of the Trust (which
is really quite recent) than any anonymity was gone and in order to do the
job as best I can then regular direct media contact becomes par for the
course (if you pardon the expression). If I am now driving the Trust as you
say then it is because the Trust very nearly shut down entirely and would
not have been there at a time when we may need it, as you also say. That was
in fact precisely the thinking of those very few who determined to keep the
Trust going and I am on record of saying precisely this in a Trust board
meeting. Where were you, then, when there was no publicity to be had ? Where
was your concern ? I find it very difficult to accept it as being a
coincidence that you have resurfaced precisely when the publicity has become
regular and more intense. Why else would you suddenly send a flurry of posts
to the list ? As I said before I have no intention of allowing you to
piggyback your personal business interests onto the publicity surrounding
the desperate plight of our football club.

> bloody disgarce

I agree that this is a disgrace.
Now for the sake of listers please leave it alone. I'm not attempting to
deny you a response but I have no time for a prolonged exchange and it
appears that nobody is interested anyway which is completely understandable.
