I think it's all brilliant! In that 'I've just crashed my car, that cheque I've just written has bounced, it's raining and I've just trodden in some dogshit' hamlet sort of way! It epitomises the game of football in this country. Run badly from top to bottom with no investment in the right areas, the media FAR too powerful, the ruling body aimless and blinkered. Take a look at last night, a game played in a Stadium that was a total shambles from start to finish, wrongly located and over-priced, the £300MILLION they would have saved by building it in the Midlands could have been inwardly invested in decent facilities at ground roots level, helping to generate English players who are, on a weekly basis, stopping playing (I've seen dozens of REAL quality teenagers pack the game in over the past 5 years). The pitch they played on, despite it being housed in this £800Million pound stadium (With a retracting roof to stop the rain coming through don't forget ... Oh ... they forgot that didn't they?) was a total shambles but there again, deep down they don't actually CARE about the football, just so long as Bodgit, Scrappit & Run pay their £20K a year for a box and they make back some of the money they wasted in the first place. The game is corrupt. It is no longer about the football, it's about the money. Where else would you get rid of the head of a failing team ... Only to replace him with another member of that failing team? Arsene Wenger? The man is FAR too intelligent to take the job on! He can see that, on an average Premiership weekend only 70-80 players (out of 300!) are English, most of them hod carriers, we've no players playing at the top level abroad and teams are so scared of losing because of the financial consequences that any young player with talent is never going to get selected. It's all about status not content. Let's host the Olympics because it'll be great for business ... However we'll only finance it by pulling the rug from under the feet of young athletes! Now let's host the World Cup in 2018 ... Probably the only way we'll qualify for a top level tournament anyway!!!
