That is why I said "one way of looking at it" - for a lot of the game we DID have possession of the ball and were largely camped in their half BUT as I went on to say we were inept , which pretty much agrees with your assessment Rich, we do not have a clue what to do when we have the ball with no movement and no width and a lack of killer ball. Their first was totally against the run of play but by the end we were absolutely abysmal but still did have chances eg Beckfords miss. It was one of the worst nights ever, and given the last 5 years or so that is saying something !! I just don't see how McAllister is going to turn it around to get us in the play offs and then win them !! I am sure he will start with Elding - I can't see how he dare pick Kandol after last nights abuse (which I totally understand but totally disagree with !) even if he had a mind to. Freedman also needs to start, he at least did pass the ball forwards to create chances. We need someone out wide, whether it means bringing Seb back and hoping he has a good 'un or moving Prutton back there where he did have some, limited, success. But even then we will not be guaranteed to beat Port Vale. Things are looking dire at present and the crowd v Walsall , being a 5pm or whatever kick off, live on Sky in two weeks could be a total embarrassment both on and off the pitch with the lowest crowd for years.
