I'm sure some managers have in the past taken their players ballet training.
It's the sort of thing that ends up on a joke feature on football focus.

Along the same lines Iain Dowie had (Oldham I think) doing water aerobics,
Bassett had Sheff Utd doing Army basic training and Arsene Wenger has
training sessions that are basically stretching different muscles which the
famous back 4 reckon prolonged their careers.

While the principles of ballet would be useful in terms of fitness
stretching etc... I have always thought clubs could use more martial arts
particularly on the mental side so for example 35000-55000 fans don't turn
up at Wembley/ Millennium Stadium and watch the team freeze or a few
thousand go to Yeovil/ Hereford/ Walsall and see a much better team on paper
fail to deliver which has to be down to attitude/mental state/ preparation
as much as anything

I am pretty sure that it isn't that simple and I am sure some physicists on
the list may comment (if there are any). There are far too many external
influences that come into play that if they change by the slightest degree
will change the balls path, for example, slight changes in temperature
altering pressure in the ball, ball sitting slightly higher in the turf,
boots becoming slacker (or tighter) may alter the shape of the contact patch

with the ball, wind speed and direction, to name a few.

Are pitches the same size? I thought that there were guidelines that said a
pitch could be between a maximum and minimum size for length and width.
