No, they're not underperforming and no, it's not a reason for it. Delve back into the archives and you'll see that Rich W was describing many of our victories as 'lucky' or 'the best team lost' or that certain players were 'liabilities waiting to happen'. All that's happening now is that the luck, as is lucks want, is levelling itself out and the liabilities are getting found out. However, when a team so obviously depends on one man to create and convert chances it is inevitable that when his form dips, as form always does, then the teams form dips with it. To then blame the guy for not continuing an unsustainable goal scoring run because no-one else can step up to the plate is ludicrous in the extreme. We are still 2nd by 3 points and a superior goal difference, so unless we lose 3-0 and Millwall win 4-0 we will still be 2nd on Saturday night. Stop looking for reasons and get back to supporting the team, warts and all.
