There is a very clear reason why we're not winning - the players we've
got arn't good enough to either consistently win games or adapt when the need
to do so is obvious. I'm afraid Grayson has now drifted into this category too.
He may recover, but put simply, much of our team would not be good enough for
the Championship, and some struggle in League 1. Occasionally they dazzle, but
then I once scored a volley from the half way line at Weetwood - it was a
cracker, but could I deliver that every week???

I'm not a fan of Beckford - he drives me nuts as a footballer. But we are much
better with him than without, for all his faults. Anyone who says otherwise is
of their rocker.

I think you really have to question how motivating it must be for a team that's
running away with the league to have new signings from a higher league. Timing
is very important and it's not inconceivable that some wil have thought 'why
bother', because if we go up I won't be in the team. When is the last time we
had hungry young players desperate to succeed?? Our transfer policy seems to be
buy from a higher league, but there's clearly a reason why they're not making
it there, and some look out of place in League 1 too.

That said, I think Dickov will be worthwhile - he needs to kick ass in our own
dressing room. I would drop Bechio - he's a plodding, diving lightweight. I'd
actually go with Dickov and McSheffery for a couple of games, and try telling
the midfield to pass better. Oh, and stop Snodgrass and Howson shooting for
goal when a defender is 3 inches in front of them - do they think the ball is
going to go through them?? Poor judgement!

Anything other than defeat would be fantastic this weekend

I'm not buying any of that. Beckford has scored 27 goals and will definitely
score 30+ goals this season if he continues to play after recovery from injury.
In short he has done his job and the attempts by some fans to in some way blame
Beckford for the current predicament is nothing short of scandalous. Maybe
these fans should look at some of the other players - an attacker who can't
trap a ball or play a simple pass, a midfielder who offers nothing but is the
first name on the tea sheet, defenders who aren't actually defenders but
are still first choice  .... and the list goes on. Utlimately this is the
manager's fault.

May I suggest that rather than replace Beckford with Barnard, Sharp or Hooper
maybe we should have replaced Becchio.

Blaming it all on Beckford .... tut tut Sam.
