The last thing we should do is get a new manager - over the 13 months since Grayson came we've been a good side who are now suffering a blip. No team wins 100% of it's matches or performs 100% of the time. (Just look how Man U have got on in their last few games)
The problem this year is that we've played a lot of games and many more high profile, high pressure games than anyone else in the division, and some of the loan signings we've made haven't worked. For example the signing of McShreffy should have worked out - a premier league winger in the 3rd division? On paper it's a good buy. Grayson has been unlucky. And why are there so many loan players? In January we were crying out for a new centre forward and a fullback (and possibly a central midfielder) The wider finger of blame here isn't the manager - it's Ken Bates. Look at the money that's come in from Delph - £7m Chelsea for stealing our youth team £2m Everton for Garbutt £1m The big cup games etc etc. Now if the club's not in debt and operating at a profit, all this money is profit right? So why haven't we bought a couple of players to get us out of the league? Why are we reduced to free transfers and loan players - the blame for that is at Ken Bate's door, not Graysons. Maybe, just maybe, Grayson worked so hard to keep Beckford because he knew he couldn't get a replacement? And yes Beckford hasn't performed in the last few games, but neither has the rest of the team. Personally I think he should be dropped against Southend to give him a kick up the arse, but it's unfair to castigage Grayson for not selling him. At the time most people (i think) thought it was a good move. I certainly did. (I should admit that I've been a firm Beckford supporter up to and including the Southampton match when he cried off and stopped trying - I still think we were right to keep our 30 goal a season striker when a replacement wasn't forthcoming) > > KFC should have acted several games ago and brought in a new manager. The gamble is not paying off. > _______________________________________________ the Leeds List is an unmoderated mailing list and the list administrators accept no liability for the personal views and opinions of contributors.
