You might not be but FIFA are partially metric. All measurements in the Laws 
are quoted in both imperial and Metric. 10 yards is 9.15m, 18 yards is 16.5m, 
etc.

yard area.  Players retreat 10 yards for freekicks.

whats the penalty box? is that the 5 meter box you re referring to?

I think theres a lame rule stating that if there is a shot towards
goal and a player
is in the 5 meter box then that player is offside no matter what.

I hope this rule does not exist anymore.
