How often are you flipping parts?  Why not add small tenons on both sides of
your parts and use a 4 jaw chuck to hold the work?  It should be reasonably
close to concentric.

Have you ever considered mounting a wood part like a spindle on a metal
lathe by drilling each end of the stock with a center point drill and using
two dead centers in the tailstock and headstock.  Then drive the spindle
with a lathe dog?  I wonder how many people I have just lost with this
description :-).   I think this is way too time consuming, but if it really
matters that much, maybe this is what you need to do.  I like my first idea
better.
