all of those things will work and I have done in some way or other
I was just thinking it would be nice to have the option on the drive center
I have been meaning to machine up another drive center and have a point on it but just haven't got round to it yet and having indexing hubs with a counter sunk hole in the middle would still be handy

How often are you flipping parts? Why not add small tenons on both sides of your parts and use a 4 jaw chuck to hold the work? It should be reasonably
close to concentric.

Have you ever considered mounting a wood part like a spindle on a metal
lathe by drilling each end of the stock with a center point drill and using
two dead centers in the tailstock and headstock. Then drive the spindle
with a lathe dog? I wonder how many people I have just lost with this
description :-). I think this is way too time consuming, but if it really matters that much, maybe this is what you need to do. I like my first idea
better.

that's a good idea I would also like a drive center with a center point
too
to locate in the counter sunk hole
in the indexing hub that way your virtually turning between centers like
on
a metal lathe so you can end for end the work and it will still run true
each time

Hello Tim,

I will take that suggestion under advisement. In the meantime, would
you make indexing hubs with holes that fit standard size screws or at
least has a center countersunk hole?
