uh-oh, i feel some competition coming on...LOL!...so,okay, what does the
adapter do asks the comedian of the group...and before i explain, i'll have
to say i'm disappointed that you haven'y figured it out...ROFLMFAO!...if
you look at the crafter as it was originally advertised, it has that square
cone on it's head stock...now that would work if you had a square block on
one end of your work piece...the block would self center into this cone
piece...easy enough...but what if the end of your work piece was
turned?...that's where the adapter comes in...so if you do your turning on
a traditional lathe, like i did, having the adapter was very helpful...i
understand a lot of people use the legacy and router bits to do their
turning, but i feel that method limits your design capability...there just
isn't enough router bits to cover all the designs that you can do using a
turning chisel...so, turn it on a lathe, mill it on an ornamental milling
machine, made by whoever...and the vegas people are laying odds that there
is no adapter with that crafter you might be considering...but we can offer
you a discount on buying one of ours...LOL!...joe...p.s. not in the shop
till monday, so photos will have to wait till then
