A Universal Identifier is a unique ID assigned to a particular record
created at a particular time on a particular system. Identical records
created at the same time on different systems will have different Universal
Identifiers. Legacy creates?/maintains Universal Identifiers and will export
them in gedcoms (tag = _UID) but I've found no way so far to view them from
within the program.

Subject: [LegacyUG] "Universal Identifier"
While searching for persons in my family tree I often see a "Universal
Identifier" in conjunction with a person. What is a "Universal
Identifier" and how is it arrived at? Can it be used with Legacy
software?
Thanks,
Owen
