Thanks. I see it now. I just never thought to look for Intellishare. As Legacy describes it, what IntelliShare is a process. The The field name really should be Universal ID or UID.

There are at least 2 ways to view the Legacy UID (called "Intellishare" field): 1: Use the "Index" tab and customize the columns displayed to include "Intellishare", 2. Use Name List view, click 'Print', and customize the report to include "Intellishare". However, I don't "see" very much usefulness of viewing the column (other than just confirming it's existence".

A Universal Identifier is a unique ID assigned to a particular record created at a particular time on a particular system. Identical records created at the same time on different systems will have different Universal Identifiers. Legacy creates?/maintains Universal Identifiers and will export them in gedcoms (tag = _UID) but I've found no way so far to view them from within the program.

Subject: [LegacyUG] "Universal Identifier"

While searching for persons in my family tree I often see a "Universal Identifier" in conjunction with a person. What is a "Universal Identifier" and how is it arrived at? Can it be used with Legacy software?
Thanks,
