Source Writer citation on reports

Diane -- Time and time again on this list we have been asked to send
messages in plain text. There are many valid reasons for that but I won't
go into them here. Go back to the archived messages at the link given below
if you are interested. The colours in your first message were an indication
that your message was sent using HTML. It would be nice if the system just
stripped all messages to the plain text format -- but it doesn't.

If you go back to Family Tree Maker you'll be able to do your genealogy I'm
sure, but I've used both - and PAF and others and I'm satisfied that Legacy
is what I want to use. I've no idea if FTM has a good user group or not but
I've always found this group very helpful. Millennia Corp isn't a huge
company and I know that many of the support people work part-time. If some
are also having email problems (like Brian) that may explain more about the
delay in response.

By source numbers I'm guessing that you mean source citation numbers
(footnotes, endnotes) that appear in superscript in the text of your report.
I'm not noticing any problems with them myself. Typically when you do have
oddities with your file it can be useful to do " File Maintenance" -- after
backing up or saving your files first. I've also been advised to make a
copy of the file and see if the problem can be replicated on that.

Regards
Kathy

Brian, you've helped me previously, and I wonder if you can help me again.
I sent the following message twice to Customer Support - with no reply. So,

in desperation I sent it again to the user list today and have been
chastized by one member for the way I sent the message. I will no longer
deal with the user group.

Here is my problem:

I am having problems - all of a sudden - with my source numbers (superscript

numbers) not showing up on reports nor on family group sheets. Worked fine
for me yesterday morning, but when trying a new report yesterday afternoon,
it stopped working, yet I had not changed anything in my "customize
options."

I've tried every combination of things to do, but nothing is working. I
tried again just a few minutes ago and I cannot get the superscript source
indicators to appear on my reports.

Any idea what I'm doing - or not doing?

Please and thank you. I'm about ready to go to Family Tree Maker!!
