Nope - that's not it - it numbers the sources so I know how many sources I have, but it doesn't give me the File ID as the number, it just gives me the number of sources I have created, but thanks for the thought.

It now reads:

1 blah blah blah File ID 325
2 blah blah blah File ID 17
3 blah blah blah File ID 2
etc.

I want:
File ID 2 blah blah blah
File ID 17 blah blah blah
File ID 325 blah blah blah
and all the other file ID's in numerical order.

If I go to View > Master Lists > Source > Options > Print ... > Select
All Sources and Select Only the Master Sources (and on the Options tab
Number each source) I get a list of Master Sources like you describe
below:
Source 1 blah blah blah etc.

2009/9/28 Ruth Nerud <baber...@worldnet.att.net>:
I only want a list of the Master Sources and even if I check the box List
Style Format, I still get my report in alphabetical order by source name and
what I want is a Source Citation Report that looks like this:

Source 1 blah blah blah
Source 2 blah blah blah
Source 3 blah blah blah

and what I get is

blah blah blah File ID 7
blah blah blah File ID 235
blah blah blah File ID 1422

I can then use this list as an index to my paper files as well as my Legacy
Master Source list. I think I'm not going to get what I want.

How do I get the report I want?

You haven't provided details as to which options you have selected in
the report dialog. I can only guess, but perhaps you need to select List
Style Format?

P.S. There is a File ID associated with both the Master Source and each
Citation. I am also guessing that you want the one associated with the
Master Source?
