Stan, We're developing tools that will help you "link" your existing Legacy place to a "standardized FamilySearch" place, which means that one wouldn't have to change any of their places now. When 7.5 is available, you'd be able to match them.

Now that Legacy 7.4 has arrived I've started paying closer attention to how my locations are named. 1. If only a country is known, should the location be ", , , United States"? 2. I have Irish locations (e.g. Co. Down) and Canadian locations (Bruce Co.). Does the "Co." need to be eliminated? How should the Geo*Codes.txt file(s) be modified to accommodate "Co." before or after a county name, depending on the country? Stan From: davesgeneal...@hotmail.com To: LegacyUserGroup@LegacyUsers.com Subject: [LegacyUG] Master Location List 7.4 Date: Sun, 31 Jan 2010 14:54:32 -0700 I have completed the recommended changes to my Master Location List (as described by Geoff) but I still have the following comma-delimited string question(s): Example: Alicia, Lawrence County, Arkansas, United States Questions: 1) Should "County" be removed from "Lawrence County"? i.e. Alicia, Lawrence, Arkansas, United States 2) Will this help or hinder Legacy 7.4 Geo-Code efforts?
