Jenny,

When I first read this problem it seemed to me that the problem was that nFS
did not recognise Legacy's Quarter Dates as used for English BMDs (is that
correct?). For me, it follows that the problem is not with Legacy, but
requires a change by FS, this I cannot see happening.

Personally, I do not use the Q Date format, but I do agree with your
interpretation of its actual meaning, and for the benefit of those who may
not be aware, the Q Date format was introduced as a result of user requests.

This problem is irking me too, and the only workaround I have found is
what Graham is doing and going in to manually enter the year.

I certainly wouldn't want to change my Q date format to "from Jan to Mar
1856" as this is not at all accurate. "BETWEEN Jan and Mar 1856" would
be accurate but I like to use the "Mar Q 1856" format because this
indicates to me immediately that I am looking at a GRO Index of
Registration date and not a suggested, approximate or calculated date of
a Vital Event.
