It's unfortunate that the linking occurs via the marriage record. Many children both throughout history and currently are born without a marriage. But it sounds like it may be imbedded deep in the coding.
I can live with it, realizing that what Legacy calls a "marriage" really isn't what is usually called a marriage. Legacy's use of the word "marriage" appears to just mean the linking of people, and it may or may not signify a formal marriage.
